It's a wonderful day to climb a tree and pick some apples with you,
So rise and shine, let's go outside and find an apple tree for two;
A bushel here, a peck over there, can hardly wait to get home,
I run to the kitchen and it let out a cry, “It’s time for a big apple pie!”;

First you make the crust, shortening is a must;
Then roll out the dough, put flour everywhere;
Choose your apples well, firm and tart are swell;
Peel and core them all, chop but not too small.

Add the sugar and spice, clove is really nice;
Fill the crust real high, add the top to the pie;
Bake til golden brown, then time to cool it down;
Serve ice cream on the top, with tea steeped in a pot!

I can only say, it's been a great day, to spend it all with you,
So once again, oh me oh my, gonna have me a piece of that pie,
